KILLED BY NATIVES
ESCAPED PRISONERS A NEW GUINEA TRAGEDY (Received June 11. 5.35 p.m.) SYDNEY. June 14 A message from Bulolo states tliat a patrolman named Mack and a party of New Guinea police, who were pursuing escaped prisoners, were attacked by natives who already had killed the escaped men and thought the police party was a punitive expedition to avenge this crime. The natives were routed and given a sharp lesson. During the scrimmage four arrows struck Mack and one of the police was hit. The wounds are not serious.
