APPOINTMENT FROM DUNEDIN [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] DUNEDIN, "Wednesday Miss Grace Mackintosh, M.A., who has occupied the position of principal of Columba Girls' College, Dunedin, since September, 1930, has been appointed principal of the Presbyterian Ladies' College, Pymble, Sydney. Miss Mackintosh is a daughter of tho late Mr. John Mackintosh, of Aberdeen, author of "A History of Civilisation in Scotland" and other works. She had a distinguished career at Aberdeen University, where she graduated with honours in English literature and language. In 1914 Miss Mackintosh received a post-graduate course in tho practice and theory of teaching at the Training College for Women, Cambridge qualifying there both as a specialist teacher of English and history and a teacher of general subjects. Upon leaving Cambridge, Miss Mackintosh received an appointment at the Royal Academy, Inverness, from which she proceeded in 191S to take up duty in the Central Secondary School, Aberdeen, as a teacher of English, history and Scripture. She held this position when the Dunedin appointment was oliered her.
