BLACKWATER RESULTS The report of Blackwater Mines, Limited (Reefton), for May, with April figures in parentheses, is as follows:Crushed, 4100 tons of ore (3200 tons), yielding 1932 (1637) fine ounces of gold, 'valued at £11,117 (£9415), at £5 15s an ounce. Working costs were £5798 (£4SIO), leaving an estimated working profit of £5319 (£4605). Development expenditure was £764 (£819). and capital expenditure £l2ll (£1264). PROSPECTING AT TAPU [l'V TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] THAMES. Saturday Two miners, Messrs. J. Trainor and D. Ferguson, working on a claim at Tapu, in the vicinity of the Mahara, Royal and Shannon claims, under the subsidised mining scheme, recently came upon a reef showing nice quartz. A trial crushing is no.v taking place at the Moanataiari battery and it is hoped to complete the crushing of about half a ton by Monday.
