Prices ruling to-day are id to id higher than quotations. Mutton: Wethers and ewes firmer in sympathy with lambs, with the demand improving. Frozen beef: Market depressed owing to the extremely low prices of Argentine chilled beef. New Zealand porkers: Warm weather has stopped tho demand. NewZealand baconers: Quiet, with trade slow. The Bank of New Zealand has received tho following advice from its London office as at the close of business last week: —Wethers: The demand and prices are improving. Ewes: The market is firm, but there is little business doing. Lambs: Prices have advanced owing to speculative demand. GOLD AND SILVER QUOTATIONS IN LONDON (Received .Turn 11. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Juno JO Fine gold is quoted to-dav at £6 2s 6d an ounce, compared with £6 2s IJd yesterday and £6 2s 2Jd on Thursday. Silver was quoted yesterday at 19 7-16 d an ounce spot and 19Jd forward, compared with and 18 J5-10d on Thursday. Fine silver was quoted yesterday at 21d, compared with 20Jd on Thursday. FRUIT FROM MARLBOROUGH RECORD EXPORT SEASON [BY TKLKGKAI'JI —I'ItKS.S ASSOCIATION'] BLENHEIM, Saturday The fruit export season just closed was a record one for Marlborough, the total output being nearly 73,000 cases, an increase of 12,000 cases over tho previous season. In 1923 the district exported 5900 eases, but in the two succeeding seasons the quantity fell, the 1921 total being 4000 and the 1925 total 2200 cases. Since 1926, however, the figures have gone up in some years by leaps and bounds. A total of 17,600 eases was sent away in 1926, 30,186 in 1928, 55,002 in 1930, 60,161 in 1932, and 72,700 this season.
