THEFT FROM GROCERY
TOBACCO AND CIGARETTES The theft of a quantity of tobacco and cigarettes from the Point Chevalier branch of the Self-Help Co-operative Grocery, Limited, was discovered when the staff arrived on Saturday morning. The shop was entered during Friday night by thieves who broke a small pane of glass in the front door. The intruders left by the back door, after taking the tobacco and cigarettes. The exact value of the stolen stock is not known, but is believed to be over £lO. The shop has been broken into once previously, while two unsuccessful attempts have been made within the past 18 months. Several other branch shops controlled by the same concern have been entered recently.
