THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE ACTIVE SATURDAY CALL A substantial volume of business was completed on tho Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday morning. Although there were a few easier movements, the bulk of the business was done at better levels. The market was firmer for Government 3£ per cent loans, which were vainly sought 2s Cd higher at £99 15s. Four per cent bonds were steadily supported at £IOO os. For stock £IOO was available, with the exception of 19-10, for which a premium of os was offered. Sellers remained inactive. The banks: group was again well supported. Nationals of Australasia were lifted '4s on sale at £l2 7s Cd. Tho 1) issue of New Zealands was taken 3d better at 30s lid. English, Scottish arid Australians were secured 6i! lower at £5. An easier movement also affected Unions, which were released at £8 os, but there was a subsequent recovery on sale to £S 6s. A buoyant market was maintained in insurance. There was an easing of a penny in Australian Provincials, which sold at 10s 2d. Standards advanced Is 3,1 in dealing at 52s 3d. while New Zealands and South British wero wanted again at -19s 6d and 66s respectively. A penny more was offered for Nationals at 16s 4d. There was steady buying support in remaining sections. A rise of 2s 3d was recorded" in Taupiri Coals, a parcel being placed at 15s 6d. New Zealand Paper Mills were done unchanged at 275. Colonial Sugars reacted sjightly and dropped 10s in business at £SB ss. Waihi Gold Mining shares continued in firm request and dealing took place one penny better at 22s 3d. Further supplies were sought at 22s , 2d, but holders asked 22s 6d. King Solomons at Is 8d were done unaltered.
