HARRIER RACING

PRESBYTERIAN CLUB'S RUN The Preshyterian Bible Class Harrier Club held its run on Saturday from the Avondnle Presbyterian Church to Otitori Bay, Titirangi, and back. The outward journey through Atkinson Park was about six miles, and the return run was five miles. Results of tho run-in were as follows: Fast pack: J. I. B. Neil. 1; W. H. Kedgley, 2; R. Linfoot, 3; L. C. Rice. 4. Slow pack: .T. Edwards, 1: S. Mandeno, 2; J. Boyd and D. Gillespie, dead-heat,, 3. TECHNICAL OLD BOYS' CLUB The Technical College Old Boys' Athletic Club held a relay run on Saturday from the Auckland Post Office to Parakai, a distance of 38 miles. Twenty-one runners took part and the distance was coveVed_ in the fine time of 3h 20m. Weather conditions throughout were not very favourable, a very keen wind being encountered most of the way, while the runners had on occasions to run through heavy rain. UNIVERSITY CLUB Owing to the term holidays the University Harrier Club had a somewhat smaller attendance than usual for its run on Saturday. The run was held over the popular Mission Hay course, first used by tho Technical Club, whtch contains some of the best harrier country near Auckland. The run-in resulted:—Griffin, 1; E. Holmes, 2: Robinson, 3; G. J. Sceats, 4; Ball. 5; T. Holmes, 6. WESLEY CLUB The Wesley Harrier Club held a training run of approximately five milos on Saturday, commencing from Mount Roskill school. Together with visitors from Technical Old Boys' and tho University Clubs, the club divided into two packs, fast and slow, the slow being led by" Green and the fast by Howitson. A run-in of 440 yds. was won by Hewitson, with Wynn, Kay (University) and A. Winstone following in that order. CALLIOPE CLUB Good all-round form was shown on Saturday when the Calliope Harrier Club held a run over the course to bo used on June 17 for tho Patterson Cup race against the Hamilton Harrier Club. The distance was about four and a-half miles and a good paco was set over the whole journey. No run-in was held.
