WORLD CONFERENCES PRINCE ON THE SITUATION AMERICA AND BRITAIN CO-OPERATION VITAL By Telesrnpli—Press Association—Copyright (Received May 31, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 31 The Prince of Wales, speaking at a dinner of the Pilgrims' Club, in honour of the new United States Ambassador, Mr. R. AY. Bingham, said: "If our present sufferings make us realise the vice of economic nationalism, they may well pave the way to future permanent prosperity and bring us nearer to the day when there will bo no more poverty.
"No two Powers can do more to ensure the success of the Disarmament and Economic Conferences than Britain and America, who so often have kept a steadying hand on the world's affairs. I am confident that their co-operation will enable the conferences to succeed and that America will prove to be one of the cogs in the wheel which will put the world in a better state than ever it has been before."
Mr. Bingham laid stress on the importance of co-operation. He said: " 'What shall we do for salvation? ' should bo our only thought."
