BOATING ACCIDENT
NO TRACE OF VICTIM No trace was found yesterday of Mr. I'M ward Hawkins, aged about 20, of Hinemoa Street, Birkenhead, the victim of a boating accident between Northcote and Bays water on Monday. The other occupant of the boat, Mr. Jack Anderson, aged 25, of Rosebery Avenue, Birkenhead, swam ashore at Bayswater in an endeavour to secure help for liis companion, whom he last saw still clinging to the capsized craft about 20 yards off the end of Bayswater Wharf. A thorough search of the foreshore was made yesterday by the police, but no trace of Mr. Hawkins or the boat had been found last evening.
