COPING WITH RAGWORT [from our own correspondent! TAURANGA. Tuesday The ragwort menace was discussed at a meeting of the fauranga Chamber of Commerce last evening. The chamber expressed tho opinion that drastic measures 'should be taken to combat the evil and urged the Government to enact legislation to deal with the eradication of the weed by a national comprehensive system, whereby all lands would be treated in a systematic manner. The chamber was prepared to co-operate with all local bodies in their efforts to' cope with the menace. The following resolution was also passed:—That this chamber respectfully requests the Government, before entering into any arrangement for the issue of additional coinage, to consider the advisability of converting the present coinage system into a decimal system.
