NATIONAL ROSE SOCIETY
DISTRICT COUNCIL'S WORK Gratifying progress during the year was shown in the report presented t-m the annual meeting of the Auckland district council of the jSatymal Rose Society. Plans were announced for the improvement of the civic garden in Parnell Park. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mrs. E. H. B. Mdsoin; vicepresident, Bishop Anderson; honorary secretary, Mr. F. Penn; executive, Mr. X R W- Thomas, chairman, -•lrs. it. M. Algie, Messrs. H. J. Cutler, J. W . Kealy, B. Smith, N. C"tler G. A. Green, S. Wiltshire,- J. h*niter, G. Fillmore, and a representativeitiom t.io Lyceum Club. Messrs. J.-H. Braithwaite and Penn were appointed to represent the society on the Auckhxna Horticultural Society's floral committeo.
