THE TAURANGA BRIGADE [from our own correspondent! TAURANGA. Tuesday The Tauranpa Fire Brigade held the annual competitions for the Purcell Memorial Shield and the Smith Champion Cup during the week-end. The results were' as follows; Purcell Memorial Shield.--Superintendent .T. Padlie's team (Superintendent Padlio, Firemen F. Bickers. H. Bickers, and F. Milne), 1; Deputy-superintendent S. Snowden's team, 2. Four teams competed. Smith Champion Cup.—Foreman A. Stew, art. i; Firemen F. Bickers and 11. Bickers, erjuul, 2. Twelve competed.
