WOMEN'S DIVISION
FARMERS' UNION Mrs. W. A. Godfrey, presidont, presided over an exceptionally large attendance of members at a meeting of tho To Awamutu branch of the Women's Division. An instructive demonstration was given by Mrs. Hartley Hall on making puff pastry. A competitive entry for pastry was judged by the, Mayoress (Mrs. Downcs) and Mrs. Hall, who awarded tho prize to Mrs. Law. Items by the Misses Horocroffc and Miss Miers were much enjoyed. A subscription was raised to assist the mental hospital's radio installation and monetary and household gifts were brought and donated to a family. Awakeri. —Members of the branch of the Women's Division held tneir montlilv meeting in the local hall recently,' Mrs. Luke presiding over a o-oocl attendance. A "bring and buy stall, in aid of funds for delegates attending conference, did very good business. Various matters wore discussed during the meeting, and it was decided to have a stall next month devoted to "something new from something old," the articles to be given to those who arc in need. Hostesses were Mrs. Barr, Mrs. Macdonald, Mrs. Wilson and Miss Luke.
