BREWING OF BEER
NO RIGHT IN CANBERRA Ail application for permission to brew beer in Canberra has been rejected by the Federal Cabinet. The Prime Minister, Lyons, explained that the liquor ordinance for the Federal Capital Territory did not provide for the gran tine of licences to brew beer and spirituous liquors. The application had asked that tho necessary amendment be made iu the law. ' ''No representations have been made bv any section of the public that the present conditions regarding tho supply of tiquor in Canberra are either inadequate or unsatisfactory, _ said Mr. Lyons. "The Government is of the opinion that the granting of the permission sought would not be justified.
