CHURCHING THE MAYOR
SERVICE IN HAMILTON [ fiiom our own con respondent] HAMILTON, Sunday The Mayor, Mr. J. 11. Fow, and tho majority of tho members of tho Hamilton Borough Council attended divino service in St. Peter's Cathedral this morning. The Mayor was attired in his robes of office. Bishop Cherrington was tho preacher, and in his sermon he made eulogistic reference to Mr. Fow's service to Hamilton. BIRKENHEAD COUNCIL Tho Mayor, Mr. G. Mills, and members of the new Birkenhead Borough Council attended a civic service at the Foresters' Hall last evening. There was a largo attendance, including the borough band, fire brigade, Girl Guides and boys' gymnasium. The Bev. W. Gatland delivered an address, and the .Rev. P. C. Davis and the Rev. IJ.1 J . ,T. Wa inwright conducted the service. The Birkenhead Methodist choir, under Mr. ,T. Wright, rendered an anthem and led tho special singing.
