OKARITO WASH-UP The Okarito (South Westland) washup for tho week was 123 ounces 10 dwt. for 125 hours. AUSTRALIAN PRICE OF GOLD The price fixed by tho Commonwealth Bank for gold, including jewellery, lodged at the Melbourne Mint, for the week ended April 21, was at the rate of approximately £6 13s 4d a standard ounce (22 carats), equal to a premium of 71.21 per cent. Payment is made according to tho assay value of the gold. Tho price was 2s 7c! lower on the week. The price an ounce fine was £7 5s Gd, a fall of 2s 9d on the week. The Commonwealth Bank's price for sovereigns at head office, Sydney, was 6d lower at 33s 6d. • REPORTS OF MANAGERS Golconda (Thames) .--During last week we continued driving ou tho hangingwall dropper from tho bottom of the winze and good dabs of gold have been seen in each breaking down. The 70ft. level is beintr put in order and a leading stone being taken alone on the foot wall branch of the main reef. The ore broken, shows nice minerals and a fair amount of zinc blende. There is now sufficient development work done to keep the mill eoinc one shift for approximately 12 months.
