WELLINGTON TRIBUTES "UPRIGHT, TRUSTY LEADER." [by telegraph—tress association] WELLINGTON, Monday Impressive tributes were paid in the Supreme Court to-day by Bench and Bar to the memory «:>!: Sir Alexander Gray, K.C. The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, said all knew Sir .Alexander Gray's sterling qualities and upright; Character and, when in January last he had a knighthood conferred on him by the King, it was universally acclaimed an honour which his distinguished career and his service to the profession and the community had worthily earned. The legal profession had lost a wise counsellor and an upright, trusty leader, whose place would be exceedingly difficult to fill. Tributes 011 behalf of the Bar were paid by Mr. C. H. Trend well, vice-presi-dent of the New Zealand Law Society, and Mr. E. P. Hav, president of the Wellington District Law Society.
