Details of the result:— TWO THOUSAND GUINEAS, Of £IOO each, with 2000 guineas added. Three-year-olds: Colts 0.0, fillies 8.9. One mile. RO.DOSTfI, Princes** de Faucigny Lucinge'S ch c. by Epinard—Raymondie, 9.0 .... . . . . . . . . 1 KING SALMON. Lord Carnarvon's b c. by Salman Trout—Malva, 9.0 . . .. 2 GINO. Asa Khnn's gr c, by Tetratema —Tercsina, 9.0 3 Twenty-seven started. Length; three-quarters of a length. Rodosto riced very prominently as a two-yeur-old in France laet season. Ho was twice seconi and once third in important events and won the Third Prix llerod Matcheu. 6even furlongs, at Lo Treniblay. Rodosto's sire, Epinard, who was foaled in 1920, is a much-travelled horse. He was ft high-clasn performer in France and in England at three years old he won the Stewards' Clip at Goodwood, and was beaten by a neck by Verdict, receiving lSlb., in tha Cambridgeshire. He then went to the United States for tho famous seriea of international races in 192-1, in which he was three times second to Wise Counsellor, Ladkin and Mad Play respectively, and in his last race, when he had gone off. he finished fifth to Wise Counsellor. On his rsturn to France in the autumn Epinard wis sent to the stud farm of his owner; M. Pierre Wertheimer, and his fee for his first season was 30,000 francs. Two years later he was again taken to America, goins back to Frc.ncc in 1928, and in 1930 he made still anotlur trip to America, and his fee there last year wan 1250 dollars. He is now back again in France, the success of his two-year-old stock during the last French racing season having created a. big.demand for his services. He had 13 juvenile winners of 25 racen worth 540.833 francs, and the b?Bt of Ihem were Coque Moix and Rodosto. Rodosto's dam, Raymondie, is by Neil Gow from La Rille, by Mncdonald 11. from Recaldia, by Bnndoir, by King Lud. Neil Gow won the Two Thousand Guineas in 1910. King Salmon was weighted at 8.1 in the Free Handicap and Gino at. 8.3. Gino dead-heated with Canon Law in the Twickenham Stakes, in the autumn, but was disqualified for humping and boring, and Lord Astor, owner of Canon Law, received the whole stak<; of £2IOO. There was a whimsical sequel to this incident the following week, when Giro won the Imperial Produce Stakes at Kempton Park, beating Mr. Basset's Restormel by half a lencrth. Tf Gino had not been disqualified at Newmarket he would have carried 10lV>. nenal'" ot Kempton Park and tho extra weight would almost certainly have beaten him. So it came to this: By tho disqualification of Gino Lord Astor gained £IOSO and the Aga Khan paired £3923. the Imnerial stake, less the £IOSO which went to Lord Astor. Rodosto, Kin? Salmon and Gino are all engaged in. the Derby, to be run on May- 31.
