DRAFT TRADE TREATY
AUSTRALIA AND DOMINION
FEDERAL CABINET MEETS PROPOSALS EXAMINED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received April 21, 9.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 21 The Federal Cabinet at a meeting in Sydney to-day discussed trade with New Zealand and gave a detailed examination to a proposed treaty. This will be submitted to Parliament almost immediately. Strict secrecy is being maintained about the provisions of the draft treaty, bub it can bo stated authoritatively that it provides for the raising by New Zealand Qf its embargo on Australian fruit and vegetables, upon certain conditions. The most controversial of these conditions is the Dominion's request for the removal by Australia of its quarantine embargo on New Zealand potatoes.
