SUPRISES IN CANTERBURY [by TELEGRAPH —I'll ESS association] CHRISTCHURCH. Friday Surprise defeats to-day in the Canterbury women's golf championship were those of Miss Olive Kay and Mrs. Dodgsliun, both of Otago and both former champions. Mrs. Podgshun was beaten by Mrs. H. Loughnan, 1 down, after the Otago player had been 3 un with 4 to play. Miss Kay was well below her best form when beaten by Miss V. Fleming, 2 down, but Miss Fleming played a sound round. The final will be played to-morrow.
