PALMER MEMORIAL CUP CONDITIONS FOR COMPETITION l'lie following chief conditions have been made for the competition for the cup presented by Mr. J. Marsden Caughey to perpetuate the memory of the late Mr. B. P. Palmer, an Auckland and New Zealand Rugby player, who collapsed on the field laet season and died in hospital:— The Bert Palmer Memorial Challenge Cup shall be for annual competition between all junior boys' teams playing in the Auckland Kugby Football Union's competitions, and under the control of the junior boys management committee. The cup shall not be won outright. All players taking part in the competition for this cup shall abide strictly by the rules governing tho junior boys' competition. , The cup shall bo awarded to the tenm attaining tho highest average of points on tI;C number oi games played by each team, auarded as under for each match played:— (i,) Loyalty to captain and conduct on and otf tho field, maximum, 10 points; (b) punctuality on field of play, maximum. 10 points j (c) strict adherence to rules and spirit of tho game, maximum, 10 points. The points for conditions o, b, c, shall bo awarded by the refereo in charge of the respective games, whoso decision shall be final. Special cards shall bo provided and when completed by,the referee shall be forwarded to a member of the judicial committee, who. in cot junction with a member not interested in any club appointed by ilia junior boys' management committee, shall reiord the points. The record of points*' shall not be available to any teiim during tho season, and shall be supplied to the junior (joys' 'management committee annually in tho aggregate on completion of play.. . Tho aggregate points awarded any team in. accordance with Rule (3) 6l>all bo subject to the following deductions, if it is shown to the satisfaction of tho junior boys' management cipminittec (whose decision shall be final) in respect of any one match that any one or more players in a ti:am has failed to observe tho following conditions (total deduction for breach in any one match from aggregate points obtained by team).—(a) For non-weighing in a lad for non-registration of a player, 5 r.ointa; (b) for failure to comply with conditions ns to age, 10 points: (c) default by t'!»m failing to take the field unless for "good cause shown, 15 points.
