NOT OUT AT NIGHT
CONDITION OF PROBATION Charged with assaulting a girl aged •13 years, a young man, John Sydney Kenafake, appeared in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M. Mr. Skelton represented accused, who entered a plea of not guilty. Evidence of the assault was given by the girl concerned. Accused said the whole matter was a joke, and had arisen as a result of the girl being teased over some homework. He had pushed the girl, who had taken hold of him. Mr. Skelton said accused, who was of a nervous nature, had not been in trouble before. The magistrate said accused had made admissions in his statement to the police. No doubt there was an assault, and under unpleasant circumstances. " I think he needs curbing so I will put the curfew on him," the magistrate said. Accused was admitted to probation for six months, during which time he must not be out after 8 p.m. without written permission from the probation officer.
