[ltv TELEGRAPH —OWN* CORRESPONDENT J WHANGAREI, Friday Owing to financial difficulty the. Wha-. ngarei Harbour Board decided on December 20 to collect a land rate of Id in the pound, but at a meeting of the board to-day tho' chairman,; Mr. .r. A. Finlayson, moved that the resolution be rescinded. He said he had taken this action as the result of certain information which he had received. The motion was carried unanimously and without discussion. Tho nature of tho information received was not announced.
