Aratoro enrolled six now members. Tlio roll-call " What can I do to improve our institute?" gave many useful suggestions for future use. One new member was enrolled; .'57 gifts of clothing were handed in for the hospital auxiliary. Glonfield had for roll-call " Sing, whistle or tell a story," some members paying the line rather than face tho audience. Sympathy was extended to Mrs. Bormen at present an inmate of tho hospital. Helcnsville was visited by Mrs. J. Hammond Hyde, secretary of tho gardening circle of tho Lyceum Club, for tho purpose of forming a similar circle within the institute: 27 members agreed to associate themsolves thus. The hall was most artistically decorated with dahlias and zinnias.

Horotiu arranged for a husbands' ovening. Tho roll-call of humorous stories was enjoyed. Mrs. Paddy gave an interesting demonstration, " dainty articles made with organdie." The competition was tho neatest buttonhole worked in five minutes.

Kaipara Flats welcomed visitors from Warkworth and Matakana. Letters of thanks wero read from tho library committee and the school picnic committeo for donations of £6 and £3 respectively. The competition was to detect the contents of a number of sealed packets by touch only. Mrs. A. Roke, of Matakana, demonstrated macremo work. Tho roll-call was " My most valued labour-saving dovice in tho home." Kaipaki welcomed four new members. Tho competitions were, best article made from rubber tubes, tins, or wire, three best dahlias (own growing). Mrs. Yon Sturmer, of Hamilton, gave an interesting talk on bulb growing.

Kumcu started a series of card evenings to bo held during the winter, to inaugurate a relief fund to benefit anyone in distress and to provide material for tho sowing circle. Tho winners of tho flag 500 wero Mrs. Currie, Mrs. Adams and Dr. Harris. Mrs. Micklo, Miss Lloyd and Mr. J. Cranswick won tho consolation prizes.
