ABSENT FROM SHIP

OFFENCE BY FIREMAN Charged with absenting himself without leave from tho New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Ruapehu on February 3, 1931, a fireman, Jurgcn Andrew Windell, aged 38, appeared for sentence, in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. Wyvorn Wilson, S.M. Accused had previously admitted tho offence. Detective-Sergeant McHugh said accused signed on in England and came to New Zealand. He left tho ship without leave in Auckland, and there was no trace of him until recently, when he was located at To Kuiti, where ho \vas working.

Accused was sentenced to sevjm days' imprisonment.
