in an address at Dunedin, tho Mayor, Mr. R. S. Black, mentioned that Dunedin City owned no fewer than 10,000,000 trees, all planted under tho forestry scheme. This mass of what, in years to come, would bo valuable timber, was the largest owned by any city corporation in tho British Empire. Tho next largest was that of tho City of Glasgow.
