EASTER TRAVELLING
BUSY TIME AT WELLINGTON RAIL AND ROAD TRAFFIC [BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Tuesday Iherc was a noticeable increase in the number of railway passengers carried to and from Wellington during the Easter holidays this year compared with past years. Noticeable features of the traffic were the large number of passengers who made only short trips, trains travelling between Wellington and Palinerston North and intermediate' stations being well 'filled. There was heavy traffic on the Wairarapa line, on which many racegoers were carried to and from Tatiherenikau. Traffic on the inter-island ferry steamers was fairly heavy. Travel by road again proved popular, both private and commercial vehicles carrying largo numbers of holidaymakers. Service-car companies report the best business for about four years.
