POLICE COURT NEWS
CONVICTION FOR VAGRANCY An allegation that ho was an idle and disorderly person, in that ho habitually consorted with reputed thieves, was denied by John Thomas Scott, aged 39, ship's fireman and labourer (MrAekins), in the Police Court yesterday. After hearing the evidence of four detectives, the magistrate, Mr. Wyvern Wilson; convicted accused and ordered him to come up for sentence if called upon Within six months. A seaman, James Anthony Lynch, aged 29, was charged with failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his release on probation, and with stealing, at Te Awamutu on March 9, tw<J -hair brushes, five silver-mounted "pipes and 12 cigars, of a total value of i £'2. lie was remanded for a week.
