FINE WEATHER IN NORTH mild temperatures The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:— A moderate anti-cyclone now covers the North Tasman Sea, while a fresh westerly depression is crossing Southern New Zealand. Indications are for northwest to south-west winds, strong at times south of New Plymouth and Napier, elsewhere light to moderate. Seas moderate on the 3i,ast Coast, elsewhere rather rough to rough.: In the Eastern Tasman Sea, moderate to strong winds between north-west and south-west. Seas ratlierjough. Weather, fine in eastern and far northern districts, elsewhere some rain probable, with heavy rails on parts of the West Coast of the South Island. Temperatures mild. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland, —There was a continuation of fine weather and a moderate southwest wind yesterday, but tho sky wat cloudy and threatening at intervals and made the conditions cool. The barometer rose .10in. during the day. Barometer, midnight, rising .. 30.15 m, Midnight, Sunday .. . . 3C.051n, Temperature in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum, 66deg; minimum, 62deg. Wellington. Beautiful Easter weather continued yesterday. The sun shone practically all day. A northerly breeze sprang up about mid-dav. Christchurcli. Fine but cloudy weather prevailed yesterday, following a frost of nearly eight degrees. The wind varied from north-east to northwest and tho temperature reached 71deg. The barometer recorded 29.73 in. early in the evening, but was falling. Dunedin. —The weather was line but cloudy. There was practically no wind.
