PICNIC AT PUKEKOHE

[fhom OUlt OWN correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Monday Over 3000 people took pnrt in the picnic held to-day on the Show Grounds at Pukekoho by an Auckland committee working in aid of the Marist School funds. Three special trains brought excursionists from the city, and many others arrived by road. Sports for adults and children were provided and thrills for both competitors and spectators were frequent. Musical items were contributed by the Mount Eden Boys' Band and the Jugo-Slav Taniburitza Orchestra. With excellent organisation, the picnic, which is intended as an annual function, proved highly successful. A baby show was one of the attractions. In the class under 12 months Mrs. P. G. Barrio's (Parnell) baby girl Cathleen and Mrs. J. O'Connor's (Pukekohe) baby boy James being adjudged equal, first,.
