WOMAN SENT TO PRISON OBSCENE LANGUAGE USED A plea of guilty was entered by a married woman, Margaret Moore, aged 43 (Mr. Aekins), when charged in the Police Court yesterday with using obscene language. "She lias rather a formidable list and is a nuisance to her neighbours," said the magistrate, Mr. \Yvvern Wilson. " She seems to have been treated with remarkable leniency during her somewhat chequered career, but she must realise that leniency cannot be extended to her for ever. She is sentenced to seven days' imprisonment." On a charge of assaulting the licensee of a city hotel John James Dixon, aged 32, seaman (Mr. Aekins), was fined £3 and costs Bs, in default seven days in prison. Jt was stated that accused, who admitted the offence, had struck the licensee on the face during a disagreement in the hotel bar.
