GISBORNE POLICE RAID EIGHT MEN REMANDED [BY TKI.KGKAPH —PR ESS ASSOCIATION] GISBORNE. Monday Following on a police raid on suspected premises, eight men were remanded to-day on charges associated with holiday gambling. Arthur Owen was charged that, being the occupier of premises in Gladstone Road, he did use the same as a common gaming house. He was remanded on £IOO bail. Frederick Lawrence Kenny, who was charged with aiding and assisting Owen, was remanded on £'so bail. Harold Littler, on a similar charge, was similarly remanded. Samuel James Bardwell, who was charged with keeping and using premises for gaming, was remanded on £IOO bail. George Frederick Bardtvcll, charged with being found on promises using for gaming, was remanded on £5 bail. John Bradley, charged with using premises for gaming, was remanded on £IOO bail, and George Fisher Mackay, charged with being found on the premises, was remanded on £5 bail. Johannes Carl Most, charged with aiding and assisting Bradley, was remanded on £SO bail.
