THE BLEDISLOE MEDAL

TAUPIR! FARMER HONOURED A notable ceremony took place at the Canterbury Agricultural College last week, when the Biedisloo Medal awarded annually to the ex-student of the college who as a result of his training has materially assisted farming in i>o\v Zealand, was presented to Mr. George Rennie, of Taupiri. The presentation was mado by Mr. H, A. Knight, the first diploma student of the 'college, and the first ex-student to whom tlie medal was awarded. Tlio medal, accompanied hv an endowment, fund, was presented to the Hoard of Governors in 1929 by the Governor-General. In 1930 >t was awarded to Mr. H. A. Knight, in 1931 to Mr. J. N. Raustoad and in 1932 to Mr. George Rennie. Dr. 11. G. Denham, Mr. W. A. Banks and Professor R. E. Alexander paid tributes to the lino work Mr. Rennie had done for farming. In presenting the medal Mr. Knight said that it stood for fine achievement by a man who was trained at the college.
