DOMINION CONFERENCE CONCLUSION OF MEETINGS Satisfaction at the increase in membership of the Churches of Christ was expressed by several speakers when the annual conference of tho churches in New Zealand was continued on Saturday. It was stated that there were now 4693 communicant members. At the mission stations conducted by the churches there had been over 1000 native conversions during the year. Six additional Sunday Schools had been opened, the increase in school membership being 750. The activities of the youth committee were emphasised by the presence of 120 young men and women from the two camps being held in conjunction with tho conference. These represented all districts from Gore to North Auckland and were under the leadership ot the newly-appointed youth director, Mr. W. R. Uibburt. Tho campers presented a bright programme of songs, speeches and dialogues to a large audience on Saturday evening. .Mr. P. Boddington, of Nelson, was elected general secretary for foreign missions. Tho conference executive was again placed in Auckland, the personnel being Messrs. H. Callam, W. It. Craig, It. .J. Dick, A. Creamer, A. Donald, G. Moyle, E. Vickory, Dr. L. Drury and Pastor It. Gebbie. The Sunday School demonstration was held yesterday afternoon, when items were rendered by the Ponsonby, Dominion Road, Onchunga, Dcvonport, Point Chevalier and Richmond Schools. The following awards were made to schools successful in Dominion competitions: —Shield for greatest number of new scholars, Gisborno; shields for school merit in Scripture examinations, Tara and Moorhouse Avenue, Christchurch; banner for regularity of teachers' attendance, Richmond, Takaka and Kaitangata, each gaining 100 per cent. Pastor G. Mathieson, of Wellington South, gave an address to the scholars. In the evening the conference sermon was preached by Pastor G. Fretwell, of Invercargill. The official business of the conference having been concluded, delegates will be taken for a tour of the city and suburbs and will take part in. a picnic at Tui Glen today.
