FIRE BRIGADES CONFER
AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION [by telegraph OWN correspondent] TE AROHA, Saturday There was an attendance of over 100 officers and firemen at the 32nd annual conference of the Auckland District Fire Brigades' Association held at Te Aroha, last evening. The president, Fireman V. M. Sarah (Taumarunui), presided. The Mayor, Mr. R. Coulter, offered a welcome to the delegates, and mentioned that it was 23 years since a conference of the association had been held in the town. The annual report, read by tho secretary, Captain T. J. Watts, stated that the membership of the association had increased and its finances were satisfactory. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Fireman H. W. Jones (Whangarei); vice-president, Secretary G. Follett (Te Kuiti); junior vice-presidont, Mr. C. Bowie (Te Aroha); secretary, Captain T. J. Watts; treasurer, Mr. C. A. Osborne (Auckland); auditors, Messrs. J. A. Gray and P. H. Hoi linesworth (Auckland); trustees, Messrs. H. E. Follis and H. E. Moore. Service medals were presented to past-President V. M. Sarah and Secretary (3. Bowie.
