Owing to the cancellation of the orders the vessel remained at her moorings at DovonportMoney Recovered in Park A resident of Pukekohe who missed a wallet containing £25 in notes from his coat pocket on Monday evening had the good fortune to receive tho money back, with the exception of a few shillings, on Thursday. After being questioned by the police, a Ki-y ear-old M aori boy admitted that ho hail handled tho money, and said it was concealed under some leaves in Roulston Park. A constablo went to the park and recovered all the money except a few shillings. Tho boy is to appear in the Children's Court at Pukekoho on a charge of theft. Mishap to Locomotive Owing to a driving rod of a new K type engine attached to the second express from Auckland to Wellington on Thursday evening breaking at Pukekohe, delays totalling about an hour were caused to the train. After the mishap all the driving rods on the sido of the locomotive on which tho mishap occurred were disconnected and tho remaining ones were used until Mercer was reached. At this station the engine was replaced and before tho King Country was reached another more powerful locomotive was substituted for tho temporary one. School Committee Elections Nominations of candidates for positions on school committees in tho Auckland Education Board's district will bo received by the chairmen of tho committees until the evening of April 17. In cases where tho average attendance at a school does not exceed 210, nominations can also be mado at tho annual meeting of a committee. Throughout tho board's district, annual meetings of householders for the election of the committees will bo held at 7.30 p.m. on April 21. In tho case of 12 newly-con-stituted school districts, commissioners have been authorised by the board to receive nominations.
