EASTER DAY
By GWEN EVANS (age 18), 23 George Street Dominion Koad. (Original.) Easter time is come again; o'er all tlie world to-day iWo keep a holy festival that shajl not pass away; 'A day of sweet remembrance of a dear love Divine That made the last great sacrifice demanded at Love's ShriiTe. IThe Easter lily blooms to-day as fair / as it did then, iWiien Christ, the Saviour of the world, of His groat love for men Suffered a deatH of shame and pain in a world of ceaseless strife, £That we might one day through His cross win everlasting life. 7 jYet do we all /remember, with cup fdlcd to the brim, [With measure running richly o'er, all that we owe to Him ? Do wo seek to be more worthy of the gift His suffering bought? / Can't you hear him pleading now to spread the love He taught? I'he Easter lily, spotless white, breathes out a message cloar, Of mingled sacrifice and love —the gifts He hold so dear; And on this Resurrection Morn, the day of love fulfilled, et us give thanks and praise to Him — the Saviour of the world.
