A NOVEL EASTER EGG

There is, however, 110 necessity for tho young folk to be disappointed by their absence at Easter time, if the following idea be used. Firstly, hard boil an egg, shell it, then make an oblong piece of fairly thick toast. Take the pgg and slit the white in two tiny lines for eye spaces and one for the mouth. Into the former insert two raisins, while strips of red crystallised cherries may bo used for tho red mouth. If desired, nose and ears may bo similarly made. Next push two long, bent sticks of macaroni or vermicelli into the lower portion to form legs, on to which attach two small stoned dates for feet. Glue a strip of white paper around the centre of the egg, over which tie scarlet ribbon, making a bow at tho back. Stand the toast straight on a plate by supporting it with matches stuck into it to rest against tho inner groove, also, sharpen a, wooden match at both ends and insert one into the top crust of the toast, then securely place tho egg on the other. You are now confronted with an impertinent Humpty Dumpty that will be hailed with delight by any child.
