Mrs. 'C. W. Boak is visiting Taupo for the holidays. Misses Frances and Eva Goodyear, of Selwyn Street, are spending their vacation at Lake Rotoiti. Miss .Alison Bradmore and Miss Dorothy Arrnitage arc visiting Rotorua'. Mrs. Knovles, of Mission Street, has left on a motoring trip to Masterton. Mrs. M. P. Mnnro and Mrs. Davis are spending Easter at Rotorua. Mrs. K. D. Page, of Ninth Avenue, has left on a visit to Gisborne. Miss Joyce Hall, who is to be married nes;t week, was the guest of honour at a vary pleasant gift evening given on Wednesday by Mrs.'W. A. Paterson. Mrs. Paterson wore black marocain with buttercup trimmings, and Miss Hall was in pink net with a black velvet bridge coat. Those present included: Mrs. Ross Clark, Misses O. and D. Armitago, Miss Alison Bradmore, Miss M. Beale, Misses and L. Hawk, Misses P. and C. Mountfort, Miss Connie Humphries and Misses Eva and Frances Goodyear. Mrs. M. P. Munro gave a very successful little bridge party on Thursday. Among those present were Mesdanies Knmvfe?;, Wallace, Atkins (Auckland), K. Taylor, Shearman and Page, and Misses Eva Goodyear and A. Bradmore. Mrs. Bradshaw Dive, a former Mayoress, leaves next week to take up her residence in Eltham. On Tuesday she was. the guest of honour at an afternoon party given by the ladies of the Croquet Club at the home of Mrs. Harvey, Third Avenue. Bridge was plavcd and a very pleasant afternoon spent. After tea Mrs. Gifford, president of the Croquet Club, made a farewell presentation to Mrs. Dive, and referred to the good work she had done as secretary to the club for several years. A presentation was also made to Miss Eileen Dive on behalf of her young friends. Others present included: — Mer, dames Phillips, Lowe, Walmsley, King, Carew, Wratten. Cannell, London, Norris, Fisher, Whiting, Washer, Cross and Hare.
