Cooke, who has held the position of Crown Solicitor in Palmerston North for many years, has resigned his office on account of ill-health .-'Mr. H. R. Cooper, of the firm of Messrs., Cooler, Rapley and Rutherford, has been appointed in his stead. The Rev. Clarence Eaton, presidentelect of the Methodist Conference of New Zealand, arrived in Christchurch this week to take up his appointment at tiui Durham Street Church. He was previously in charge of the Whitelcy Memorial Church, New Plymouth.
