OPENING OF SEASON The Pukekohe Rugby Union's. owning ball of the season, in the Strand Theatre this week was very successful. About 130 couples were present, and the music provided by the orchestra was excellent. The grand march was led by the president of the union, Mr. H. Curd, and Mrs. Curd. Miss G. Fulton and Mr. T, Moody played extras, and two songs, " Good-bye " and " Pale Moon," were sung by Mr. R. Morgan. Among those present were: Mrs. H. Curd, who wore a frock of flame satin beaute; Mrs. M. Lawson, blue crepe marocain and lace; Mrs. R. Perkins, powder blue taffeta; Mrs. Appleby, sunset beaute; Mrs. C. Stoupe, crushed velvet; Mrs. A.
