CANADIAN BUDGET
COMMONS ADOPTS DEFEAT OF AMENDMENTS (Received April 12. 5.5 p.m.) OTTAWA, April 11 The Budget was passed by the House of Commons this evening by 107 votes to 72. Tho Progressive Party's sub-amend-ment was defeated by 171 votes to 13 and a Liberal amendment by 110 to The Progressives' sub-amendment called for a 'modification of the Budget in favour of currency inflation, nationalised insurance and a national credit bank. The amendment was a direct want of confidence motion against the Government.
