THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE HEAVIER TRADING RECORDED All sections of the investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchango participated in more active trading conditions yesterday. A fairly substantial volume of business was recorded end prices reflected a distinctly firmer tone. ; Buying support for all 4 per cent Government loans again registered improvement, offers being liited 10s to £99 for bonds and by a similar amount to J.'9S 10s for stock. For tho 3) per cent tax-frees inquiry was steadily maintained at £97. More active conditions existed in banks, in which further gains were recorded. The preference issue of Commercials of Australia was secured unaltered at £8 7s 6d, after which offers for more were vainly raised 3s 6d to £S 3s 6d. New South Wales were done again at £29, with more available at that figure. New Zealands were dealt in at 44s 9d and 455, an advance of 3d at the higher prico, with closing support firm'at. that level. A rise of Is (3d took place in Unions on sale at £7 7s 6d. Insurances also were stronger and South British made further headway in trading at 64s 6d, an advance of 3d. A similar appreciation took place in offers for New Zealands, no supplies of which were available. Inquiry was steady for loan and agency. Goldsbrough-Morts wero placed 3d butter at 22s 9d. Firm support was accorded all leading industrials. Huddart-Parker Shippings improved 6d in dealing at 295. Staple's Brewery were released unaltered at 22s 9d. For Australian Glass Is more was paid at 46s 3d, while two parcels of Colonial Sugars had sale 10s better at £54 1,55. The mining market was fairly active. Waihis changed hands again at 225. Consolidated Goldfields eased 3d on Kale at 9s 9d. After a long period of inactivity _ Kuala Kampar Tins wero done Is 9d lower at ss. CLOSING QUOTATIONS '
