MAN'S SECOND TRIAL
CONVICTED OF MURDER VANCOUVER, March 31 Joseph Norman Pitre, the first man in the history of British jurisprudence, to face a second trial for murder after once being acquitted, was sentenced to five years' imprisonment at Bathurst, New Brunswick, to-day following his conviction for murdering George Smith, a storekeeper. Accused's brother Wallace received the same sentence for robbery with violence in connection with the same case.
