DIXIELAND CABARET
A NIGHT OF MERRIMENT SPECIAL DANCE NUMBER Dixieland was again the rendezvous of many of Auckland's pleasure-seeking public on Saturday night, when the cabaret presented a glorious spectacle with its myriads of coloured lights and domes. Visitors were entertained with a special number, "Indian Warrior," danced by "Eleuretto," of the Cecil Hall School of Dancing, to special music arranged by the leader of the Dixieland Band. Patrons were not slow in appreciating the merit of this performance and so realistic was the death scene that iu spite of the exceptionally heavy work entailed, tho persistence of tho encoring was eventually successful in obtaining a repeat performance. The Dixieland Band rendered a programme of the latest danco music, which was greatly enjoyed by tho visitors. Among those present were:—Mrs. A. B. Ackland (Suva), wine embossed georgotte; Mrs. P. M. Clark (Dunedin), black georgette and lace; Mrs. C. Brasier (Sydney), turquoise bluo georgette and lace; Mrs. H. J. Patton, flame satin veiled with black lace; Mrs. J. J. Tait, black chenille velvet and diamante; Mrs. Comes, wine chiffon velvet and georgette; Mrs. D. Alexander, floral taffeta; Mrs. Len. Adams, black and beige lace; Mrs. \V. A. Harvey, floral niuon; Mrs. Tom Tuohy, midnight blue satin beaute; Mrs. Rabbjdge, beige satin veiled, with French lace; Miss I. Smallbone, coral pink satin and tulio; Miss M. Sparrow, powder blue Chantilly lace; Miss Joan Dick, parma violet satin beaute; Miss B. Green, pastel pink georgette; Miss M. Bowden, blue crushed velvet; Miss Ingham, parma violet georgette; Miss Kitty Bmallbone, beige lace; Miss Alice Lazarus (Fiji), cherry ring velvet; Miss Kromfeld (Rotorua), black chiffon velvet; Miss Dorothy Shera, apricot georgette; Miss A. Manor, palest pink frilled organdie; Miss Winifred Ward, cherry crinkled crepe; Miss Lorna McKenzic, liaigo georgette and tulle; Miss Agnes Speedy, lettuce-green georgette; Miss Betty Williams, forest green ripple ninon; Miss Thclma Mills, hunter green satin beaute; Miss Dorrie McGowen, shaded blue georgette; Miss M. Brook, black and floral organdie; Miss E. Fentou, apple green georgette; M iss Whealan, black' and gold lame; Miss Betty Gard, apricot satin beaute; Miss Marjorio Feist, rose floral georgette; Miss Con. Howard, gold-tinted floral satin. A birthday party was given in honour of Miss Peggy Townshend, who wore a frock of black georgette relieved with white. The guests wore:—Miss Eileen Brodv, in ivory angel skin; Miss K. Hunt, cream silk lace; Miss Mavis Miller, blue and white checked gingham; Miss J. Chambers, sky blue chiffon velvet and lace; Miss D. Rich, ivory moiro velvet and white fur; Miss Bonty Robson, black laco; Mrs. E. Warner, blue floral taffeta; Mrs. G. Ross, ivory lace.
