INJURIES TO HEAD
BOY CATCHING HORSE [BY TELEGRArH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE PUKE, Sunday Serious head injuries w.ere received early last evening by a boy aged 12, James Jiroad, whose parents reside in No. 2 Road, To Puke. The boy was trying to catch a horse in a paddock, and, to prevent the animal escaping, he held up a portion of barbed wire fence \vhich was lying on the ground. The horse charged through the fence and the boy's head was severely cut by the wire he was supporting. Dr. L. Randle, of Te Puke, attended to the injured lad. who was conveyed by car to the Tauranga Hospital, where he was admitted at midnight. An operation was performed and the boy's condition is reported to be fairly satisfactory.
