TRIP BY AIR
THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL BAY OF ISLANDS TO CITY The Governor-General, Lord Bledis]oe, made a journey by air from Paihia, Bay of Islands, to Hobsonville on Saturday morning. Piloted by Squad-ron-Leader L. M. Isitt, lie left Paihia in the flying boat Cutty Sark at 10 a.m., and reached the Hobsonville air base at noon. The trip to Auckland was completed by launch. The flviug conditions were perfect. The flight was probably the longest that His Excellency has undertaken, and it was his first experience of a flying boat. Lord Bleilisloe stated afterwards that ho had enjoyed the trip very much. He has been visiting Waitangi to preside over the historic first meeting of the "Waitangi National Trust Board. His Excellency, who is at the Northern Club, has had no official public engagements during his brief stay here. On Saturday afternoon he spent an hour and a-half watching the test cricket match at Eden Park, and he will witness the continuation of play to-day. Yesterday he attended the morning service at St. Mary's Cathedral. Lord Bledisloe will return to Wellington by the limited express this evening.
