NEARLY £50,000 OUTSTANDING [BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday The sum of £49,769, out of the total city rate levy of £333,354, is still outstanding, as against £37,375 last year. PAYMENTS AT TAURANGA A SATISFACTORY RESPONSE [by telegraph—-own correspondent] TAURANGA, Saturday Boroiigh rates in Tauranga for the financial year which closed yesterday have come in exceptionally well. Tho town clerk, Mr. R. B. Shewman, reports that 97.08 per cent of rates had been paid. There wore good prospects, ho said, that tho greater part of the rates still duo would be paid during April.
