SWIMMING
PONSONBY CLUB'S RACE T Ponsonby Amateur Swimming and Life-Saving Club held the final race over 50 yards for the competition for the points score trophy at the Shelly Beach Baths on Saturday afternoon. The race resulted m a dead heat between R. Moore (scr), 295, and A. Pettit. (2s), 31s. P. Worden, 3s, being third. With a total of- 19* points, Moore won the trophy. Pettit, 181- was second, and Worden, 18, third. PARNELL CLUB A gymkhana was held by the Parnell Amateur Swimming Club in the Parnell Baths on Saturday afternoon, Competition was keen, the results being as follows: Wade Cup Handicip, 50 yards.—P. Browplee, scr, 1; G. Thompson, 2s, 2; J. Jones, 4s, 3. Moss Ballin Cup Handicap. 100 yards.— IT. Noble, 4s, 1; G. Thompson, 4s, 2; J. Butcher, is, and C. Billiard, 4s, de.ad-heat, 3, Corfu Dive.—G. Thompson, 1. Challenge Relay Race. 200 yards,—Waitemnta (M. Honeyfield, J. Mulvihill, P Shauahan. T. Shanahan), 1; Parnell, 2. CARNIVAL FOR AUSTRALIANS The North Shore and Mount Eden Amateur Swimming Club* will hold a farewell carnival in honour of the visiting Australian champions, O. Griffiths, P. Griffiths C. Phillips and V. Begoino, in the Tepjd Baths on Thursday evening. The events to be decided are as follows:—22o yards open handicap; 100 yards backstroke handicap, SOyarda ladies' Auckland championship; 133 1-? yards medley invitation scratch race; d 33 1-3 yards inter-club relay championship. 5 men a side; 50 yards Mount Eden Club championship; 50 yards open handicap; 50 yards ladies' handicap; 50 yards' boys' handicap; ,33 1-3 yards girls' handicap: 100 yards handicap for junior hoys of Mount Eden Club; 238 1-3 yards life-saving clubs' relay championship, seven men a team. Entries will olose to-day.
