THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE CONVERTED LOANS' QUOTED Government loans were quoted in their new form on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday morning. Four per cent bopds wo?re in demand, with offers of £97 for each of the four new issues. The only inquiry for stock was confined to 1939-43 3$ per cents at £96. Sellers remained inactive. Quiet conditions existed throughout thfl market. In banks Commercials of Australia were weaker after sale u penny lower at 14s. New Zealands advanced 2d in a deal at 44s od, further supplies being available at that, level. Offers for New Zealand and National Insurances shaded slightly, but support for South British was lifted 3d to t)3s 6d, attracting' a selling quotation (3d lower at 645. Other investment sections provided nothing to the morning's trading. Levels generally were firm. Mining issues attracted steady attention. Waihis were done again at 225, Inquiry for B|ackwaters and Cousolidateds was a ljttle easier, but other levels were not materially changed.
